I love how fall brings a crispness to the air and with it, apple season! Our local grocery store always has a great variety of seasonal and local apples. And I just love to try all the different kinds!

There are so many yummy things you can make with apples. My Apple Pies in Mason Jars and Old Fashioned Apple Crisp recipes are definitely worth trying if you love apples!

Now, this recipe for baked apple chips is one of my favorites by far. Not only are you creating a healthy snack for your family, but you know exactly what you are putting into your food.

I’m sure you have seen those shiny bags at the grocery store with apple chips. I am guilty of buying them too. But most are not organic. And apples are on the Dirty Dozen list. Meaning, they are one of the worst fruits you can eat that isn’t organic.

With this baked apple chips recipe, I always use organic apples. And you can adjust how much sugar (or omit entirely) to make it as healthy or delicious and you want it! My kids love snacking on these and they are perfect for school lunches!

What Apples Are Best For Making Apple Chips

Fujis, Honeycrisp, Granny Smith and Gala are all great varieties of apples for making this baked apple chips recipe. You literally can not go wrong.

Apple Chips Recipe No Sugar

If you want to make these baked apple chips with no sugar, simply sprinkle each apple slice with some spices. I love to combine cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger.

You could also simply bake them with nothing on them. The natural sugars in the apple will be just enough sweetness on their own.

And try these baked apple chips ontop of salad. My Layered Arugula Salad is the perfect dish to top with some crunchy baked apples!
